Join the transformation of SCE’s operations with our $1B+ NextGen Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program. We are modernizing processes and systems, migrating to SAP’s next-gen ERP software, and enabling new digital solutions to enhance automation, integrate AI, and improve data quality.
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Manager to lead the deployment and cutover workstream for Southern California Edison’s NextGen ERP Program. This role is accountable for the successful execution of complex, multi-phase cutovers and ensuring enterprise-wide readiness across systems, technology, and operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in large-scale ERP transformation, cross-functional leadership, and operational excellence to drive seamless go-lives and long-term value realization.
Key Focus Areas:
Strategic Cutover Leadership
•+ Define and lead the NextGen ERP Program’s cutover strategy, encompassing pre-cutover, cutover, and post-cutover phases across multiple releases and platforms.
+ Oversee the execution of four major cutovers, integrating SAP, Edge, and third-party systems.
+ Establish and manage cutover governance, including blackout periods, freeze plans, rollback strategies, resource alignment (RACI), and critical path integration.
+ Lead mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, and “day-in-the-life” simulations to validate readiness and mitigate risk.
Enterprise Readiness Oversight
•+ Ensure System Readiness through rigorous quality assurance, testing, data validation, and change/release management.
+ Drive Technology Readiness, including infrastructure provisioning, data integrity, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
+ Lead Business Resiliency Planning, ensuring the organization can maintain critical operations during and after deployment through robust continuity strategies, risk mitigation, and recovery protocols.
Operational Transition & Governance
•+ Develop and implement post-go-live operational procedures, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and incorporation of new processes.
+ Lead the transition to steady-state operations, including documentation handoff, support model activation, and stabilization oversight.
+ Establish and manage a deployment governance framework across internal teams, vendors, and partners to ensure integrated planning and execution.
+ Proactively manage program risks, issues, decisions, and actions (RAID) to ensure compliance and delivery excellence.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
•+ Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including internal staff, third-party vendors, and contractors, ensuring accountability and performance.
+ Serve as a key liaison to executive leadership, providing strategic insights, go/no-go recommendations, and progress reporting.
+ Oversee resource planning, including onboarding/offboarding strategies and vendor coordination.
+ Drive continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and lessons learned for future deployments.
Responsibilities
•Develops long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the project management competency
•Cultivates relationships with business partners and vendors to achieve operational excellence
•Drive adoption of innovative project management methodologies and approaches
•Directs project portfolio planning and ongoing optimization of resources to advance key initiatives
•Enhances program increment planning, dependency management, and synchronization of Agile release trains
•Promotes collaboration between project teams to share knowledge, reuse code, align architecture, and standardize processes
•Provides coaching and mentoring to project managers on Agile principles, removing impediments, and evolving practices
•Drives initiatives to improve team velocity trends, defect rates, and sprint burndown metrics to mitigate risk
•A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
•Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
•Experience developing long-term vision and strategic roadmaps for IT projects.
•Experienced in technical leadership of project portfolio planning and ongoing optimization of resources.
Preferred Qualifications
•5+ years of experience in SAP project management leadership, with proven track record of managing complex cutover planning and execution activities for large-scale implementations.
•Deep understanding of ITIL, change management, and deployment best practices with prior experience with RISE with SAP, SAP Activate methodology, or cloud-based S/4HANA deployments preferred.
•Strong understanding of SAP modules and integration points, implementation lifecycles, cutover planning, and testing methodologies.
•Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines.
•Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure go-live environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Additional Information
•This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility in Pomona, CA for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
