Senior GIS Technician

Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association is seeking a Senior GIS Technician who wants an exciting work atmosphere and to be a part of a team dedicated to exceptional service.

The Senior GIS Technician supports the Association’s utility and infrastructure operations by managing geospatial data, producing detailed maps, visualizations, and supports spatial data and analysis to aid in planning, maintenance, and emergency response. This role requires strong technical expertise in utility mapping, experience with GPS data integration, and a collaborative approach to working with engineering and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in preparing, verifying, integrating, and maintaining the Association’s enterprise mapping systems in ESRI, CAD and other digital formats.

- Ensure spatial data quality through QA/QC procedures and metadata documentation.

- Support GIS related projects creating visualizations with feature and thematic based maps and drawings for internal and external use.

- Maintaining accurate spatial data for municipal, special district and taxing boundaries.

- Assist and provide geospatial database queries and reports on system data and assets.

- Maintain the Association’s annual vegetation management process by processing data, generating reports, and area maps.

- Maintain the Association’s annual facilities inspection process by processing data, generating reports, and area maps.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Applied Science Degree in Geographic Information Systems or related degree in spatial database analysis is required.

- A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience working in utility/infrastructure GIS systems, drafting, surveying, or similar mapping is required; AutoCAD experience is preferred.
