UDC is seeking a GIS Specialist or Sr. GIS Specialist located in the San Ramon, CA area to work on a mobile as-built project for our utility client. This position will be on site in San Ramon 3-5 days per week, depending on client and project requirements.
What you will be doing:
•Assist with user acceptance testing for new field maps releases
•Test and replicate bugs in workflow prior to submitting to IT to fix
•Manager field maps material list, including adding/deleting/update materials, working with supplier quality and manufacturers directly
•Assist in developing BI dashboards related to FMs
•Manage the logistics of quarterly in-person training for new employees
•Monitor daily FM scripts of data issues and working with the field user to fix in near real-time.
•Managing FM access for new hires/contractors via the MEA portal
Overview of project scope:
•Material Configuration: On a bi-weekly to monthly basis, the individual will ensure that all applicable Gas Distribution assets are included in the master material list. This is done by reviewing reports from material inspectors, MRC and EDRS to determine if any new materials are found. If so, this person will be responsible for providing the material information to current Mobile As-built application and confirming all new materials are correctly added to the next configuration (See MRC + RI Review Process, and EDRS Review Process Documents).
•Material Problem Reports: While reviewing substantial amounts of material scans, the individual is responsible for finding any labeling issues through the reviewed reports stated above as well as being the point of contact for any incorrect labels found in the field. This person then would be responsible for any further actions that need to be taken to correct the issue, which can be in the form of a material problem report or other.
•Configuration Task Tracking: Document all planned changes/updates for the duration of the configuration timeline to ensure all desired changes get addressed.
•Configuration Testing: This person would assist in the testing for both MAB and ETL prior to a configuration release.
•ETL: Completing multiple rounds of test scripts within the QA and Production environments of ArcMap (GIS).
•MAB: Completing multiple rounds of test scripts for mobile interface, materials, reports, and web alerts.
•Inventory Spreadsheet Management: This person will be responsible for tracking MAB equipment (receivers, iPads, LRFs) and changes across all divisions. This pertains to user assignments, temporary receivers/receivers being repaired, updated firmware versions, and more.
•Dashboard creation: Create new PowerBI dashboards to help support the MAB project.
•PowerBI Dashboard Management: Maintain dashboards that provide MAB metrics and statuses to achieve the following tasks:
•Export visuals and graphs monthly to update the MAB website
•Export project specific data for individual requests
•Review incoming data to ensure delta syncs are accurately entering the PGE database
What we look for from you:
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent related work experience
•Must be located in the San Ramon, CA area or willing to relocate. Must be able to report onsite 3-5 days per week per client requirements
•Experience working with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcPro software
•Utility industry experience
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Experience communicating and presenting to the client
•Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills

San Ramon, CA area. Onsite 3-5 days per week.
Compensation Range:
$32.00-$37.00 per hour for candidates located in the San Ramon, CA area. Compensation will depending on experience and level.
