The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.

Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

Reporting to the Finance Superintendent, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of capital and operations accounting through the timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and analysis that support the direction, strategies and action plans necessary to achieve the full potential of the assets available to BCBU. Also, responsible to provide back up to various functions in the BCBU finance team.

Capital Budgeting And Forecasting

Production Accounting

This involves review of monthly production reports submitted by Mine and Mill team to ensure:

Vendor Approvals

This involves ensuring sensitive fields for vendors are updated based on call back process to:

SOx And Internal Controls

Execution of operationally effective internal controls over financial reporting applicable to the BCBU accounting function.

Compliance

Take all necessary actions to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, legislation, regulations, policies, work standards, and governance.
