- The Senior Financial Analyst will provide relevant information to influence business decisions across the organization.
- This position is responsible for the coordination, preparation and analysis of forecasts for Fuel and Purchased Power, including the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, the long-term strategic financial and updates as required.
- You will also be responsible for providing monthly Fuel Adjustment Mechanism (FAM) schedules.
- This position plays a key role in the preparation of regulatory applications to external stakeholders, providing supporting detail on Fuel and Purchased Power Costs including the FAM, supporting the month-end and quarter-end accounting close processes and responding to information requests.
- You will be responsible for communicating key financial information to various levels of the organization, including senior management.
- The successful candidate will lead or collaborate in projects and provide assistance to various areas of the Company as required.
- You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
- The successful candidate will hold a degree in business or commerce and have a minimum of five years experience in a related role. Ideally you will possess a CPA designation. A related combination of experience and education will be considered.
- You are a proven team player with the ability to interact and work with people with a variety of backgrounds and at different levels within the organization.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in financial analysis are required.
- You must possess strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, be detail orientated and able to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
- You have the willingness to challenge the status quo and are dedicated to identifying continuous improvement opportunities and new efficiencies.
- The successful candidate will have strong working knowledge in the MS Office Suite of software and has experience with financial reporting systems. In particular, advanced Excel skills and comfort in creating and analyzing detailed spreadsheets is required.
