We are looking for a Senior Energy Efficiency Analyst to expand our technical capabilities. This role involves leading energy studies—ranging from ASHRAE Level I through Level III—developing energy models, advising on building-system upgrades, and supporting clients throughout the retrofit and implementation process.
The successful candidate will work closely with the President, play a key role in project delivery, and have opportunities to mentor junior staff and influence the growth of our service offerings.
- Evaluate building performance by analyzing utility data, equipment inventories, and operational trends.
- Oversee projects from planning through completion, ensuring deadlines, scope, and quality requirements are met.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create holistic energy-efficiency and decarbonization strategies.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, market developments, and industry best practices.
- Use tools such as IES-VE, eQuest, RETScreen, or similar platforms to model energy performance and assess retrofit options.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and partners.
- Provide coaching and technical guidance to junior analysts to support their professional development.
- Identify improvements in workflow, methodology, and internal processes to enhance project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in energy management, building performance analysis, or sustainability consulting.
- Hands-on experience conducting ASHRAE Level II or III audits.
- Strong proficiency in building-energy modelling tools (IES, eQuest, RETScreen, etc.).
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including macros or VBA, are an asset.
- Excellent analytical reasoning, organizational skills, and written communication abilities.
- Professional credentials such as P.Eng, CEM, CMVP, or similar certifications are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of incentive programs, utility benchmarking/reporting, and decarbonization planning is beneficial.
