DEFINITION

Under general direction, performs a variety of specialized and technical duties at the advanced journey level in the design, construction, installation, modification, calibration, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, including voltage distribution, motor control systems, telemetry systems, valve actuation, seismic event systems, level controls, and pump controls, and related equipment, and devices used in the treatment, storage and distribution of potable water; leads, trains and provides work direction to assigned staff, and performs other related duties as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the advanced journey level class in the Electrical class series. This class performs the more complex duties of the agency’s electrical activities.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

Receives general direction from the Water Systems Supervisor. May exercise technical direction over assigned staff.
