Senior Electrical Estimator

A DAY IN THE LIFE

- Leads the development of complex estimates, interpreting bid package specifications and drawings to define the scope of work and required deliverables.

- Oversees the preparation of accurate labour, equipment, and material estimates, ensuring alignment with current market trends, construction costs, and timelines.

- Utilizes estimating software to guide the creation of material takeoffs, man-hour budgets, and project forecasts.

- Analyzes and prepares cost impact estimates for scope changes, collaborating with project teams to manage updates effectively.

- Chairs and participates in estimate planning, validation, and review meetings to ensure strategic alignment and accuracy.

- Balances multiple competing priorities and delivers comprehensive, high-quality estimate packages within tight deadlines.

- Contributes to process improvements and innovations within the estimating function.

- Other duties as required

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum 7-8years experience in an estimating role.

- A Journeyman Electrician with field experience is preferred.

- Blueprint reading and interpretation.

- Industrial field experience is preferred.

- Prior experience working with Trimble Estimation or other estimating software.

- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- Prior experience working with Bluebeam software.

- Exceptional time-management skills.

- Able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly.

- Thrives in a busy, deadline-oriented environment.
