We have a current opening for a Senior Director of Health, Safey and Environment (HSE) to support and oversee our organizations policies and strategies related to HSE compliance.
The Senior Director of HSE is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing organizational policies and strategies related to health, safety, and environmental compliance. They will be responsible for interpretation and reporting information and overseeing our employee training programs. The Senior Director of HSE is ultimately responsible for shaping and maintaining a culture of safety excellence across all Equix Entities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develop and lead the company’s HSE strategy in alignment with corporate goals
•Advise executive leadership on regulatory changes, emerging risks, and industry best practices
•Ensure compliance with local, regional and national HSE regulations
•Maintain and manage relationships with regulatory agencies such as OSHA
•Identify and mitigate potential health, safety, and environmental risks
•Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations
•Design and implement robust HSE programs, procedures, and training
•Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the organization
•Lead HSE teams across multiple sites around the country
•Mentor and develop internal HSE talent
•Track and report on key HSE metrics such as TRIR and DART rates
•Use data to drive improvements and strategic decisions
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
•10+ years of progressive experience in HSE, including at a senior leadership level
•Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
•Deep knowledge of applicable HSE laws and standards (OSHA, EPA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.)
•Strong leadership and communication abilities
•Strategic thinker with hands-on problem-solving capabilities
•Proficiency in data analysis and HSE management systems
•Ability to influence and foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship
•Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time to regional safety teams and as needed to support operations groups
