Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Director – Environmental Health & Safety to lead our organization’s safety department. This role is critical in ensuring a culture of safety and maintaining compliance with appropriate regulatory standards. The successful candidate will oversee the safety department, support field and office operations, and maintain adherence to client-specific safety systems and other related tasks. This is a full-time position based out of Canonsburg, PA with some travel to various job sites and other offices. The salary is negotiable and based on experience.
Education and Experience:
•Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Safety Management Role
•3+ years’ experience in client specific safety systems
•Professional Certifications including Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or similar are preferred but not required
•Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related experience is required

•Proven ability to lead and direct the safety culture and core values of a company
•Skilled in developing and revising safety policies and procedures
•In-depth knowledge of OSHA, construction, oil and gas regulations and other safety standards
•Capable of producing accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders
•Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve issues involving clients, employees and regulatory agencies
•Outstanding attention to detail with excellent observation and problem-solving abilities
•Strong organizational and motivational skills
•Able to maintain composure and professionalism in emergency situations
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
•Effective verbal and written communication across various platforms (in-person, phone, and email)
Travel Requirements:
•Estimated 90% Office and 10% Field – Reporting Location Canonsburg, PA
•Travel to job sites and offices within Southwestern PA, WV and Southwestern Ohio regions may be required
Responsibilities:
Safety Program Development and Oversight:
•Ensure compliance with company safety culture and core values
•Monitor and ensure adherence to the company’s SSE Program
•Review, update and manage a comprehensive safety program with industry-specific safety policies and procedures tailored to the unique hazards of each sector of the company
Leadership
•Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the field and office safety personnel to ensure implementation of safety objectives and departmental responsibilities
•Communicate the company’s safety objective, policies, and goals to clearly and effectively to foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement in safety practices
•Work with other departments to promote safety and support their safety needs by providing department resources and expertise
Compliance
•Maintain compliance with client-specific safety platforms (e.g., ISNet, Veriforce/Verisorce, Energy World Net, ITS, and Mine Compliance)
•Review all project documents related to upcoming, ongoing, and proposed projects for Environmental Health and Safety Compliance
•Maintain and manage employee and company specific records and documents to maintain compliance for internal and external stakeholders
•Review of all safety documents (e.g., training, JSA, stop work orders)
Incident and Accident Management
•Lead investigations into workplace incidents and accidents
•Analyze findings to recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions
•Integrate lessons learned into ongoing Safety Program improvements
Miscellaneous
•Supervise fleet compliance
•Oversee Workers Compensation and Vehicle Claims
