Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our team working on Thermal SAGD for IPC Canada Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and progressing forecasting and plans on both the subsurface and surface facilities in the Thermal division of IPC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with experience in the SAGD industry.
Reporting:
This position reports to the Director of Thermal Assets in Calgary
Key Responsibilities:
•Work within the Asset team to support projects and development initiatives through corporate and regulatory approvals
•Expand Blackrod Forecasting Workflow to incorporate facility startup
•Develop and manage sustaining pads planning and direct planning between Production, Projects, Operations and Drilling leads
•Work closely with cross-functional teams including geologists, drilling engineers, operations personnel, production and projects engineers to plan and manage projects
•Support reservoir engineering research through classical reservoir engineering techniques, reservoir simulation and well modeling
•Ensure Technical and Economic evaluations are completed in a timely manner and with accuracy
•Support and develop new projects focusing on key area’s (Facility constraints, emissions reduction, operational efficiency, OPEX reduction, CAPEX reduction, Future pads routing, Infill wells and overall well design)
•Evaluate existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for optimization
•Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory requirements to ensure products comply with industry standards and regulations
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related field
•8+ years of relevant experience in the industry
•Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
•Experience with project management and product development lifecycle
•Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
