Position Description
Tacoma Power Management is seeking a talented and driven individual to join its Power Resource Modeling team. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will contribute to running and developing our Python-based modeling codebase used for energy planning, risk management, and optimization. Your work will advance Tacoma Power’s ability to provide reliable and affordable energy, manage risks, and optimize power resources.

Your contributions will play a vital role in ensuring Tacoma Power can continue to deliver low-cost, reliable power to its customers well into the future.
In This Role You Will
- Perform model runs. Manage model input and output data. Critically review and interpret model results.
- Develop and maintain linear optimization scripts for dispatching our hydro resources and for long-term portfolio management.
- Visualize and present results to decision-makers. Participate in modeling team meetings and group planning sessions. Communicate with team members about progress and challenges.
- Update and improve the model codebase through GitHub issues. Troubleshoot, develop, test, and document code.
- Perform statistical modeling such as machine learning and forecasting. Quantify uncertainty in statistical models.
Qualifications
Minimum Education*Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or directly related field such as Finance or Business Administration.
Minimum Experience*
2 years of experience in statistical analysis, forecasting, or financial/operational modeling.
Licensing, Certifications And Other Requirements

- Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education

- Strong investigative and exploratory skills
- Experience with scientific programming (e.g., Python, R, etc.)
- Advanced degree in a technical field such as Operations Research, Power Systems Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Economics.
- Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely

Pay Details
Hourly Rate: $49.31 - $69.43
Annual Salary: $102,564.80 - $144,414.40
