Senior Civil Technologist (on-call/hourly)

Kamit Group is currently searching for an on-call (hourly) Senior Civil/Geotechnical Technician/Engineering Technologist to work with our Edmonton team. You will play an important role in the delivery of testing services related to Civil projects including infrastructure, material engineering and quality control.

Job type: Contract – hourly/on-call/project-specific

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will perform concrete testing and, site inspection, compaction testing (soil and asphalt) using a nuclear gauge, data collection and general geotechnical work and/or supervision of juniors.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

-         Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Geotechnical Engineering Technology or equivalent

-         Must have CCIL certification

-         Experience with concrete testing (air meter, temperature, slump)

-         Experience with soil compaction testing, nuclear gauge experience

-         CCIL lab testing (proctor), concrete strength testing, sieve analysis experience

Relevant experience: 3 years+

SKILLS:

Knowledge of industrial, and municipal undertakings. Must be able to:

• Read and interpret working drawings and blueprints

• Assess scope, plan, prioritize and execute geotechnical testing related work

• Generate technical reports

• Effectively deal with and get willing cooperation from others in the job sites

• Communicate fluently in oral and written English

• Assist administration team by organizing project info and timesheet

MUST present and submit a police name/criminal record check. Must be punctual, possess a valid Alberta driver’s license, and a pair of safety boots. Willing to travel to various job sites that may be assigned.

COMPENSATION:

-         $28-32 depending on experience
