Job Summary
The Structural Engineer who performs in this position will support the design and construction of EPC projects in the energy industry across the U.S.
Duties/Responsibilities
•Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams including Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation professionals.
•Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, Prepare structural calculations
•Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement
•Proficient in detail civil/structural engineering and design work procedures and processes
•Capable to lead a civil/structural project team
•Interface with geotechnical engineers and implement geotechnical recommendations
•Provide input in support of permitting efforts
•Prepare material requisition and subcontract scope of work
•Provide engineering manhour and quantity estimates
•Design of Compressors and Dynamic Analysis of Machine Foundations using other engineering programs
•Identify potential changes and track engineering quantities against budgets
•Comply with all CTCI Company and HSE procedures and policies.

Required Skills
•Familiarity with SP3D and experienced with Navisworks, STAAD, Bentley RAM Steel, Foundation 3D, Mat 3D, MathCad
•Design of various steel structures including modular pipe racks, walkways, platforms, MPS and MES.
•Design of equipment foundation (shallow and pile) including vertical vessels, pipe racks, transformers, tanks, and facility buildings using other engineering programs.
•Strong communication skills and professional ethics to interface with clients and project teams
•A team player to develop a good working environment.
•Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university in Civil/Structural Engineering with 10 years of experience in structural design of commercial, industrial, or manufacturing industries. Masters degree counts for 1 year and PhD for 2 years.
•PE Registration (AZ, CA, TX, NY, LA desirable)
•Working knowledge of US building codes IBC, ACI and AISC and structural design standards.
•Prior work tasks include conceptual studies, design calculations & checking construction drawings.
•Experience in preparation and review of project specifications, material requisition packages, and bid evaluations.
•Large module experience is desirable.
