JOB SUMMARY:
Metro Engineering Solutions, LLC (“MES”) is looking for a Senior CAD Designer to join our team! We are looking for an experienced designer with 3-5 years of expertise in drafting easements, writing legal descriptions, and generating rights- of- way. MES is a multifaceted utility design and engineering firm serving clients throughout the Midwest. The Senior CAD Designer will support our clients and team by efficiently processing field survey data, interpreting legal descriptions, and managing easement documentation. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and uphold our core principles: understanding and satisfying customer needs, maintaining commitments, and fostering a positive work environment.
Requirements•Associates degree in AutoCAD drafting or equivalent work experience.
•A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in drafting easements, writing legal description's, and generating right-of-ways.
•Minimum five (5) years of AutoCAD Civil Experience.
•Experience with processing field survey data.
•Strong ability to read and interpret legal descriptions and easement documents.
•MDOT and MicroStation experience is a plus.
•Excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills and familiarity of industry practices and regulations.
•Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Duties And Responsibilities
•Process field survey data effectively and accurately.
•Draft easements, write legal descriptions, and generate rights-of-way.
•Analyze and interpret legal descriptions and easement documents.
•Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other Technicians to provide drawings on schedule.
•Manage the setup and preparation of detailed project drawings during planning and design phases.
•Prepare permit drawing sets including plans, elevations, sections, details, and notes.
•Understand AutoCAD requirements specific to different clients and MES standards.
•Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews on drawing files.
•Coordinate project deadlines with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers.
•Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
•Interpret sketches, drawings, building program information.
•Primarily work in an office setting.
•Ability to travel and/or work in the field as needed.
