Understanding Of Primary & Secondary Control Switchgear Components and it’s application
Interpretation of customer specification, drawings and power system requirements including all protection schemes, Automatic Transfer Scheme and Kirk Key Interlocking
· Must be able to validate Electrical BOMs (Primary and Secondary Control Components)
· Work closely with Sales to validate quote per customer specification and layout
Ensure the quote, spec match to prevent confusion in engineering team
Follow Switchgear Power System Technical Review (TR) Process to:
Do Value Engineering to Sales during quote process
Review all criteria coming out of Sales, sketching section views to hand off to mechanical driving efficiency and quality in engineering team
· Assist Sales in site visit onboarding new utilities
· Attend SPS Kick Off meetings upon order conversion with all stake holders
· Work closely with Electrical Engineer after order assignment to assist in submittals
· Work closely with all other SPS departments
· Provide guidance to all mechanical and electrical engineers on conceptual designs for gear
Verify that design adheres to Mechanical and Electrical Design, Standard, Codes and best practices
Validate Electrical Schematics for Protection Schemes, ATS and Kirkey Interlocking
· Provide guidance and direction to the production floor during critical design issue
· Participate in weekly Cross Functional Teams (CFTs) Meeting to identify issues up front for prompt resolution
· Work with R&D engineering to develop new concepts and designs
· Assist R&D team review and finalize templates both mechanical and electrical
· Other responsibilities as designated by your Manager
· Knowledge of Front Elevation and Mechanical Drawings
· Comprehend schematic, one and three line diagrams
· Desire to continually learn about new technology
· CAD design experience with a preference for SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, and AutoCAD
· Associates/Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
· Knowledge of engineering drawing guidelines and industry standards (IEEE, UL 891, UL 1558, NEC etc)
· Excellent time management skills – On time task completion
· Familiarity with major OEMs (Primary & Secondary Control Components)
