Job Title: Senior Accounting Clerk – Certified Payroll & Construction Accounting
Company Overview:
We are a fast-growing construction management company seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Senior Accounting Clerk to support our accounting operations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate certified payroll reporting and proper tracking of project-related expenses. You will play a key part in maintaining organized financial records and supporting compliance in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Position Summary:
The Senior Accounting Clerk is responsible for certified payroll reporting, processing payroll, entering receipts, tracking payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of construction accounting, and familiarity with certified payroll requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
•Process and file certified payroll in compliance with state and federal regulations.
•Enter and organize receipts and vendor invoices for project tracking.
•Monitor and track project payments and reconcile statements.
•Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and accounting statements.
•Post journal entries and update the general ledger.
•Review reports for accuracy and completeness.
•Allocate project expenses to appropriate accounts.
•Support audits and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
•Perform other accounting and clerical duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable):
•May oversee junior accounting staff, including hiring, training, and assigning daily tasks.
•Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to support team development.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
•Strong understanding of bookkeeping and certified payroll practices.
•Knowledge of construction accounting and project-based financial tracking.
•Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with construction accounting software is a plus.
•Ability to follow detailed instructions and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
•Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
Education & Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
•Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based industries.
•Coursework or experience with certified payroll processes strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
Work Authorization:
•Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Pay: $27.08 - $35.00 per hour
