Michigan Public Power Agency (MPPA) is adding a new role to its Financial Services Business Unit as the breadth and depth of responsibilities of the group has increased. The addition of this new position will allow MPPA to continue providing value to its public power electric utility members.
We are looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst, to work under the direction of the CFO and the Controller, who will assist with financial statement preparation and review, financial reporting and analysis, annual budget, financial audit, credit risk monitoring and reporting and fixed asset accounting. The position will also be responsible for providing back up support to the Senior Settlement Analyst who is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and recording wholesale power transactions for MPPA.
In this role, you will:* Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, reports and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Required/Preferred Skills, Education & Experience:* Experience with general ledger, accounts payable and billing systems.
