The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, and upholding GAAP compliance. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process, revenue recognition, and financial analysis to support both corporate and local decision-making. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and adaptable to a growing, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
•Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and lead the month-end close process to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
•Analyze and deliver meaningful financial information to both APS Corporate and local management teams.
•Maintain and monitor transaction processing systems, ensuring data integrity and appropriate authorization controls.
•Assist in developing and implementing process improvements and internal controls.
•Perform monthly financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and company standards.
•Analyze and record revenue recognition using the percentage-of-completion and accrual methods.
•Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and troubleshoot ERP-related accounting issues.
•Generate ad hoc reports and conduct in-depth analysis of sales, cost of sales, and operating expenses.
•Collaborate with senior management to provide insights that support strategic business decisions.

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
•Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; construction industry experience strongly preferred.
•Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including percentage-of-completion and ECAC methodologies.
•Experience with Vista by Viewpoint ERP is highly desirable.
•CPA and/or CMA certification preferred (or actively pursuing).
•Demonstrated ability to contribute beyond transactional tasks—adds strategic value to the business.
•Experience with accounting system conversions preferred.
•Proactive, goal-oriented mindset with the ability to inspire team engagement.
•Ability to manage complex tasks independently and collaborate across departments.
•Flexibility to assist in other business areas as needed.
•Solid understanding of the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and accruals.
