Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst

We are a real estate firm that owns several apartments and commercial properties. We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team with Buildium Software experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, accrual accounting, and forecasting using Buildium Software. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Real Estate Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of our financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, rent collection, check deposits, and the preparation of financial statements for our extensive real estate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

Oversee rent collection and ensure timely deposits of checks.

Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in all financial reporting.

Handle financial aspects of property acquisitions, dispositions, and capital projects.

Monitor and report on cash flow, budget variances, and financial performance metrics.

Collaborate with property managers to ensure accurate financial records for all properties.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Support the preparation of tax returns and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.

Maintain and improve financial controls and accounting policies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA designation preferred but not required.

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in real estate accounting.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar platforms.

Strong understanding of real estate financials, including leasing, property management, and development.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay: $57,706.91 - $85,000.00 per year
