The Organization:
Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District is home to 18,000+ residents. Formed initially as Williamson County Municipal Utility District No. 2 in 1977, BCMUD provides water and wastewater services, recreational activities, beautiful gardens, parks, and miles of trails through the Brushy Creek community. BCMUD operates four swimming pools, four tennis courts, and a disc golf course throughout the community.
At the heart of our District is the Brushy Creek Community Center. Our Community Center features two gyms, two racketball courts, a weight room, a rock wall, and recreational programming, including various fun activities, educational and fitness classes.
Brushy Creek employs approximately 190 seasonal, part-time, and full-time team members.
Security Guard Lead:
Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District is seeking a skilled and dependable Security Guard Lead to coordinate and oversee the daily security operations of our District properties and facilities. This role is essential to maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, employees, and District assets.
The Security Guard Lead provides day-to-day guidance and leadership to security personnel, ensures compliance with all safety protocols, and responds to incidents professionally and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and committed to supporting the safety and well-being of our Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District community.
Essential Functions:
•Coordinates and oversees all security operations, including alarm systems, patrols, and incident response. Responds to and investigates District facility alarms. Ensures security lighting and security monitoring systems are functioning.
•Leads and coordinates security team operations during assigned shifts, including assigning duties, monitoring performance, and providing guidance.
•Conducts regular patrols of District facilities and surrounding areas by foot, bicycle, or vehicle to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential risks.
•Responds promptly to incidents such as theft, vandalism, or disturbances; liaises with law enforcement as needed; and prepares detailed incident reports.
•Supports the development and implementation of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and training programs.
•Maintains accurate documentation of security activities, including logs, training records, and incident reports.
•Conducts training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of security personnel. Ensures all team members are trained in emergency procedures, first aid, fire safety, and other relevant security protocols.
•Performs inspections of emergency equipment (e.g., AEDs, fire extinguishers) and supports other safety-related tasks as needed.
•Assists with developing and implementing security plans, policies, and procedures.
•Assists with scheduling, hiring, and training of security personnel.
•Represents the District in a professional, approachable manner at events, meetings, and in daily interactions with the public.
Required Skills:
•Maintain current certification/license.
+ A valid Texas driver's license (or obtain one within a satisfactory time frame after hire in the case of out-of-state applicants).
+ American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.
+ Level II Non-Commissioned Officer Certification issued by the State of Texas
•Exceptional customer service, communication, and leadership skills.
•Ability to work flexible work schedules and irregular hours, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
•Ability to operate a District vehicle safely while performing job duties.
•Comfortable working on a computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Skills:
•Previous supervisor experience.
•Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
•Strong knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and best practices.
•Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to security
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Schedule:
•Full-time position - 7:30 am to 3 pm. Saturday through Wednesday.
