Côté Gold is being developed in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.
The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

SECURITY GUARD
The Security Guard is responsible for delivering safe, responsible, and effective security services to protect company assets by detecting, deterring, denying, delaying, and responding to illicit or prohibited activity on company property without negatively impacting safety, cost, or productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Area 1:
Safe and reliable security services.
•Protect Côté Gold resources from theft, property damage and harm and ensure safety at all times.
•Maintain control, monitor and coordinate entry and exit from the mine site and high security areas.
•Detect, deter, observe, and report on security and safety related matters.
•Complete thorough investigations in line with security best practices.
•Support site-based emergency response.
•Observe and report daily activities and irregularities.
•Aid in the prevention of theft, vandalism, and trespassing.
•Oversee and/or conduct searches of persons and property.
•Support wildlife management through the use of deterrent devices.
•Perform worksite inspections and safe work observations; participate in and lead investigations.
•Operate, control, monitor highly sophisticated electronic security systems, devices, and equipment.
•Support the administration of drug and alcohol policy investigations, surveillance, monitoring and testing.
•Safely perform assigned tasks for which they are trained in a heavily industrialized environment.
Area 2:
Operational excellence.
•Seek opportunities to improve security services.
•Be obsessive in optimizing security.
•Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
•Continually seek to improve your skills as a Security Guard
•Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
•Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
•Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
•Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).
Area 3:
Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.
•Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
•Mentor and train new team members.
•Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
•Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
•Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
•Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
•Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves
minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
•Class G valid Ontario Driver's License with clean driving record.
•Current Ontario Security Guard license as per PSISA 2005.
•Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
•CPIC background check with no criminal record.
Work experience - Nature & Length
•5 years of more of security experience.
Additional qualifications - Competency requirements
•Remote mine site experience preferred.
•Security Operations Center experience preferred.
•Security technology experience highly preferred.
•Advanced report writing skills highly preferred.
•Advanced investigative skills preferred.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Physically able to conduct arduous, repetitive activities.
