Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Delivery Drivers by dispatching by assigning work to the appropriate personnel. Performs the following duties personally and in conjunction with other members of the Dispatch Team.
Seasonal Job – no benefits – Seasonal position - approximate dates: start October 1st and end April 30th. Schedule can be changed due to weather and the needs of the company.
Normal work schedule is 7:00 to 4:00 or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. with a 1-hour lunch break.
Occasionally, during our busy season, additional hours may be required to meet our business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for efficient communication, harmonious interaction, and support of co-workers and management team members.
- Operates a variety of communications devices, competent with Android technology, desktop computing and phones.
- Uses a computer aided dispatch system to enter, update, and retrieve information.
- Efficient utilization of vehicles and drivers that meet customer requirements.
- Assists drivers in reading and interpreting maps and driving directions regarding deliveries.
- Contacts or responds to delivery personnel to obtain or provide accurate information.
- Prepares reports as needed on a daily or weekly basis or upon request.
- Performs other tasks assigned by manager to provide general support to company operations.
- Dispatches tickets by Geographic plan (what day/what area) (by product)
- Works on: On Call Schedule, driver info sheets, emails from answering service, and runs on call reports.
- Runs and works on reports
- Checks department voice loop and shared department email.
- Plans truck maintenance and schedules with the mechanic and drivers.
- Assists in performing tasks of other personnel within the department and reviews log notes in a timely manner.
- Always maintains and promotes company brand guidelines and core values (Friendly, Simple, Safe).
