Scale Operator

Arthon is looking for an organized individual to fill the position of Scale Operator at our Crawford Quarry in Kelowna, BC. The Scale Operator is required to have completed secondary school and have a beginner level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. The chosen candidate is expected to be detail oriented and have strong multi-tasking skills. This role reports directly to the Mine Manager; on-the-job training is provided. Previous administrator experience is considered an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Scale – Issue scale tickets (invoices) for loads weighed at scale upon truck departure. Handle cash and credit card transactions. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the scale office for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors. Generate daily and weekly reports and provide to accounting.

2. Depot Sales – Operate skid steer to load trucks and/or trailers in the Crawford Quarry Depot.

3. Customer Support – Receive customer inquiries and fulfill quote requests. Assist customers in viewing product and obtaining delivery services, if required.

4. Project Support – Provide support for management, workers, and subcontractors on Arthon or Sandhill projects within or near the Crawford Quarry. Scan pre-trips and produce a summary for equipment manager and purchaser. Scan timesheets to payroll. Assist mine manager with production reports and distribution of daily reports.

5. Standard Corporate Responsibilities – Maintain the stability and reputation of the organization by complying with legal requirements. Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish the job results. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Be conversant with relevant sections of the Health & Safety Program. Understand WorkSafeBC acts and regulations, as well as the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC.
