This position will safely and efficiently process customer trucks through the mine’s scale, loading and ticketing system to minimize the in-yard times and customer wait times.
The employee holding this job must perform the work activities in a professional, correct, accurate and timely fashion. It is essential that you are on time for your scheduled shift as this position is an integral part of our operations. This job interfaces daily with the rest of the operation at this location as well as the Corporate Office.
This position will also perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks as directed by the immediate supervisor.
· Communicate professionally and effectively with truck drivers, customers, co-workers and dispatchers as you are the face of the company.
· Enter data into computer system accurately and in a timely manner.
· Effectively communicate with loader operator(s) to make sure the right product is being loaded.
· Assure that customer trucks have legal gross weights and axle weights. This may require manual measurement of truck axles.
· Review inbound scale camera to check truck bed for potential contamination.
· Fill out forms and report mechanical problems to supervisor/manager.
· Record truck driver issues, and actions taken.
· Maintain housekeeping and general maintenance of scale-house area.
· Must stay focused on task despite pressure from the computers, phone, radio, drivers and traffic.
· Perform pre-shift and end of shift checklist(s).
· Performs all duties in conformance with appropriate safety, environmental and security standards.
· Replace or assist other workers as needed or directed.
· Perform other tasks as assigned by Management or Lead Person.
· Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent .
· Two (2) years of experience relating to and operation of truck scales or top-off unit a plus.
· Any equivalent combination of education and experience a plus
· Ability to speak Spanish (Bilingual) is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works outside and inside the scale house and can be exposed to adverse weather conditions. The employee frequently works near loud moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet, hot and/or humid conditions, and exposed to vibration. Stands and walks back and forth 50 - 90% of the time and sits 10 - 50% of the time depending on the location. Works in a structure 10 to 20 feet above ground. Dust is stirred up frequently by vehicle movement and wind.
Employees must follow all safety guidelines throughout designated shift. Must wear minimum 6" steel toe boots, safety vest, eye protection, hard hat and additional PPE as required.
Pay Rate: Rate could vary dependent upon experience. Shift differential pay for nights and weekends.
Schedule: Employee will most likely be required to work long extended hours, shift work (days, afternoons, or nights), and weekend shifts, as required.
Lunch/breaks: As time permits during shift, does not have a designated break time during shift.
