Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SCADA Engineer - GE eterra with specialized knowledge and proficiency in GE eterra and C++. As a SCADA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems using GE eterra and leveraging C++ programming skills. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of GE eterra SCADA systems in the power and utility industry.1. Design and Develop GE eterra SCADA Systems: Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to analyze requirements, design, configure, and implement GE eterra SCADA systems using GE eterra. Leverage your C++ expertise to develop custom modules, libraries, and components for enhanced system functionality.
2. GE eterra and C++ Proficiency: Possess in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with GE eterra software and C++ programming language. Utilize your expertise to configure and customize GE eterra SCADA applications, develop HMI screens, create complex logic and control algorithms, and extend the capabilities of GE eterra through C++ programming.
3. System Integration: Integrate GE eterra SCADA systems with various field devices, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), using C++ programming techniques. Develop and execute testing procedures to verify system functionality and performance.
4. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and resolve technical issues related to GE eterra, C++, and GE eterra SCADA systems. Conduct routine maintenance activities, system upgrades, and software patching to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
5. Cybersecurity and Risk Assessment: Implement robust security measures to protect GE eterra SCADA systems from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Leverage your knowledge of C++ to develop secure coding practices and enhance system security. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement necessary safeguards to ensure system integrity and data confidentiality.
6. Documentation and Training: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, configuration details, and user manuals. Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring their proficiency in operating and maintaining GE eterra SCADA systems.
7. Project Management: Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure successful project delivery. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to meet project objectives.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience working as a GE eterra SCADA Engineer with a focus on GE eterra and hands-on experience with C++ programming.
• Strong knowledge of GE eterra SCADA concepts, protocols (such as DNP3, Modbus), and communication technologies.
• Proficiency in configuring and programming GE eterra applications, developing HMI screens, and designing complex logic and control algorithms.
• Experience integrating GE eterra SCADA systems with PLCs, RTUs, and IEDs using C++ programming techniques.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for GE eterra SCADA systems and ability to apply secure coding practices in C++.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
