We are seeking a skilled SCADA Engineer
with strong experience in utility environments, electrical systems, and power infrastructure. This role involves the design, implementation, and support of SCADA systems—particularly for substations, power generation facilities, and control centers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with GE SCADA platforms, protection and control systems, and utility electrical components such as relays, switchgear, and transformers.
- Design, configure, deploy, and maintain SCADA systems for substations and generation assets.
- Integrate and troubleshoot electrical equipment: relays, switchgear, protection devices, and utility gear.
- Support control center applications for real-time monitoring, alarms, trending, and operator HMIs.
- Work closely with protection and control engineers on relay coordination, logic schemes, and substation automation.
- Perform testing, commissioning, and validation of SCADA and protection/control installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including operations, maintenance, and IT/OT security.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (NERC, IEEE, ANSI, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
- Proven experience with SCADA systems (GE preferred) in utility or power generation settings.
- Strong knowledge of substation equipment, relays, switchgear, and protection/control systems.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as DNP3, IEC 61850, and Modbus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with ability to document and explain technical work clearly.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and system reliability.
- Experience in regulated utility environments in the Northeast U.S. (New England / New York).
- Knowledge of both new system builds and legacy SCADA upgrades.
- Certifications or training in protection & control systems.
