Saw Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Saw Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating predominately our main saw to cut raw steel to specified dimensions, ensuring precision and quality in every cut. This role requires attention to detail, willingness and ability to work outside as well as indoors, understand structural steel shapes, physical stamina, forklift operations, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Shift hours are Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm, with overtime on Fridays as needed. Saturdays and Sundays always off.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate manual saw (e.g., band saws) to cut materials according to cut lists

- Read and interpret blueprints

- Measure and mark materials for cutting using measuring tools and templates

- Inspect finished cuts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to standards

- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment

- Monitor inventory of raw materials and report shortages

- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred

- Familiarity with manual saw operation and basic mechanical tools

- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and measurements (tape measure)

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials (50+ lbs)

- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
