The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing projects from inception to completion. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, to quality standards, and meeting/exceeding customer expectations. A key component will be successfully tracking and reporting on assigned projects.
- Project Management:
- Develop project governance structures and proposals
- Prepare estimates (cost, support requirements, risks, alternatives, recommendations)
- Coordinate activities across business units and contractor delivery teams
- Tailor project management process to fit scope and scale
- Integration & Planning:
- Develop project charters and execution plans (PEP)
- Use Earned Value Management (CPI/SPI)
- Maintain performance baselines, monitor/control project work, manage execution
- Ensure change control and configuration management
- Execution & Control:
- Oversee design, build, test, pilot, integration, and installation activities
- Conduct regular status review meetings and provide reports
- Manage scope, risks, costs, schedules, and quality
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Lead procurement planning, vendor selection, contract administration, and closeout
- Perform supplier management, track deliverables, and oversee contractor staff
- Stakeholder & Team Management:
- Prepare communication and change management plans
- Support Steering Committee participation and lessons learned
- Plan staffing and resolve resourcing issues
- Organize and manage effective project teams
- Post-secondary education in computer technology (BSc, MSc)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 certification
- Demonstrated record of continuous improvement- Advanced experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent (2+ years)
