Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sandblaster/Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and applying protective and decorative coatings to surfaces using sandblasting and painting techniques. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation:

Perform sandblasting to remove rust, old paint, and other contaminants from metal, concrete, or other surfaces.

Clean, mask, and prepare surfaces prior to painting or coating applications.

Painting & Coating:

Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings using spray guns, rollers, or brushes.

Ensure uniform application of coatings according to specifications and industry standards.

Mix and prepare paint materials to match required specifications.

Quality Control:

Inspect finished surfaces for smoothness, uniformity, and adherence to specifications.

Touch up, rework, or reapply coatings as necessary.

Safety & Maintenance:

Follow all company and OSHA safety protocols, including proper use of PPE.

Maintain blasting and painting equipment in good working condition.

Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials and chemicals.

Qualifications

Previous experience in sandblasting, painting, or industrial coating preferred.

Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, coating applications, and equipment operation.

Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and safety data sheets.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Physically fit to perform duties involving lifting, bending, standing, and working in confined spaces.

Willingness to work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold conditions).

Working Conditions

Exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and chemicals (proper PPE provided).

May require overtime, weekends, or shift work depending on project schedules.

Work performed in industrial, construction, or shop settings.
