Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. operates in a competitive global market producing wide ranging metal-based assemblies and components across a variety of industry sectors including but not limited to Mining, Oil & Gas, Crane and Drag-line Components, Agricultural, Machine building, and Heavy Equipment Manufacturing.

Increased over the years, our extensive plant capacity developed to cater for our multi million-pound turnover, is spread across three facilities manned by over 150 employees. It incorporates shot blasting, stress relieving, fitting, welding, machining, non-destructive testing, final paint, right on through to our own logistics network, resulting in high value finished items across many diverse sectors delivered right to the customer's door.

Our company is looking for 1* permanent full-time Manual and automatic Sandblaster or Blasting Operator to join our work team. We have a position open on afternoon shift. While you do not need to be a journeyman painter/sandblaster to apply, we are seeking applicants that have some training working with heavy equipment, grinding tools, and power tools that are used during this process. In addition to operating the blast booth and unloading the cabinet, you may also be asked to help with painting or coating tasks after you have successfully removed the unwanted substances from the surface.

Sandblaster Duties and Responsibilities

· Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces

· Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment

· Load and unload the blast cabinet

· Assist with painting or coating as needed

· Apply and remove non-skid materials as needed

Sandblaster Requirements and Qualifications

· Previous sandblasting experience or training

· Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus

· Physical stamina

· Flexible schedule

· Familiarity with power tools
