We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sales Compensation Manager to oversee our Sales Compensation Team and ensure accurate and timely processing of commissions. This role will be responsible for managing compensation systems, auditing payroll, collaborating with key departments, and providing guidance to both team members and sales leadership on compensation-related matters.

Responsibilities:
Team Management
•Lead and manage the Sales Compensation Team, ensuring alignment with company goals.
•Train and support team members to ensure they understand all components of sales compensation and can clearly explain them to sales representatives.
•Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and development.
•Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Compensation System Oversight
•Own the day-to-day management of various compensation tools and platforms.
•Ensure compensation systems are running smoothly and updated when commission structures or rules change.
•Work with IT or third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement system enhancements.
•Maintain documentation of compensation logic, business rules, and configurations.
Payroll and Auditing:
•Conduct regular audits of commission calculations or payouts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
•Implement improvements and process controls to minimize errors and delays.
•Track and resolve commission disputes or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
•Ensure compensation adjustments (spiffs, overrides, clawbacks) are properly processed and documented.
Reporting and Communication
•Develop and deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports on compensation performance and trends.
•Provide actionable insights to senior leadership on compensation effectiveness and ROI.
•Ensure plan documents and compensation statements are clear, up-to-date, and accessible to the sales team.
•Proactively communicate changes in compensation plans or systems to stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•Work closely with Accounting to ensure accurate recording of commission transactions for financial reporting.
•Partner with Sales Leadership to design, review, and revise compensation plans to align with business objectives.
•Collaborate with HR and Finance on headcount planning, quota setting, and budgeting.
•Act as a liaison between sales and back-office functions to ensure a seamless end-to-end compensation experience.
Compliance and Best Practices
•Ensure compensation processes comply with internal policies and regulations.
•Benchmark compensation plans and practices against industry standards.
•Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve data accuracy.
•Prepare materials and documentation for audits or internal reviews.
Qualifications:
•Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to explain complex compensation plans to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•Experience handling escalations and conflict resolution with professionalism, clarity, and a solutions-oriented approach.
•Strong Google Sheets expertise, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and dashboard creation.
•Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing data from multiple sources to support audits, reporting, and troubleshooting.
•Proficiency in Tableau for building dynamic dashboards and visualizing compensation data to support decision-making and executive reporting.
•Highly detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong sense of ownership over sensitive compensation data.
•Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams including Sales, Accounting, Finance, and HR.
•Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•Experience with commission/compensation platforms (e.g., Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Spiff) is a plus.
•Previous experience in solar is preferred, but not required.
•Experience in a high-growth or performance-based sales organization, preferably in SaaS or technology, is a plus.
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Requirements:
•This position is required to work in the Lindon, UT corporate office.
•Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and communicate effectively over the phone and in person.
•This position is for full-time hours Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm.
