The Opportunity:
The Sales Analyst will play a key role in defining our ideal customer profile, identifying trends and characteristics across our customer base, and conducting industry research to create a targeted lead list for our sales representatives. This individual will leverage data-driven insights to help our sales team focus on high-potential prospects and optimize outreach efforts.
Responsibilities:
Customer Profiling & Analysis:
•Analyze existing customer data to identify common characteristics and key trends that define our ideal customer profile (ICP).
•Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to refine the ICP based on market research, industry trends, and customer behaviour.
Trend Identification:
•Monitor and track key customer trends to uncover new opportunities for growth, segmentation, and targeting.
•Identify patterns in customer behavior, needs, and buying cycles to support more effective sales strategies.
Industry Research & Competitive Analyst:
•Conduct in-depth research on target industries to identify competitors, peers, and key players in each market.
•Provide insights into industry-specific trends, challenges, and opportunities that can inform lead generation efforts.
Lead Generation & List Creation:
•Research and compile targeted lead lists based on the defined ICP, including detailed information on potential customers, competitors, and industry connections.
•Ensure lead lists are accurate, up-to-date, and segmented based on key criteria for effective sales outreach.
Collaboration with Sales Team:
•Work closely with sales reps to ensure that lead lists and customer profiles align with sales objectives and priorities.
•Provide ongoing analysis and insights to help sales teams prioritize leads and develop tailored sales strategies.
Reporting & Performance Metrics:
•Develop and maintain performance dashboards to track lead generation effectiveness, customer acquisition trends, and sales outcomes.
•Regularly report findings to management and recommend optimizations to improve sales targeting and conversion rates.
Process Improvement:
•Continuously evaluate and refine lead generation and customer profiling processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
•Stay up to date on emerging tools, technologies, and industry best practices to enhance research and analysis methods. (google earth, zoom info).
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.
•3 – 5 years proven experience as a Sales Analyst, Market Research Analyst, or in a similar data-driven role.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
•Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), data analysis tools.
•Expert in Microsoft platforms (e.g., Excel & MS PowerBI).
•Competitive intelligence gathering.
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
•Preferred: Knowledge of Construction, Oil & Gas, Transportation, Forestry, Marine industries.
•Preferred: Experience working in a high-growth or fast-paced sales environment.
•Preferred: Knowledge of the sales pipeline process.
