About the Role:
The Safety Officer at Standard Engineering + Field Services, LLC plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to comply with local, state, and federal regulations. The Safety Officer will conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Additionally, this role involves training employees on safety protocols and emergency procedures to foster a culture of safety within the organization. Ultimately, the Safety Officer's efforts will contribute to minimizing accidents and injuries, ensuring the well-being of all personnel involved in construction projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management within the construction or engineering industry.
•Certification in safety management (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is required.
•Proven experience in a safety role within the construction industry
Preferred Qualifications:
•OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required; OSHA 500 or 510 certification is a plus.
•Knowledge of safety regulations, construction practices, and environmental standards.
•Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
•Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
•Certification in First Aid and CPR
Responsibilities:
•Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of job sites, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential hazards.
•Develop and deliver safety training sessions to all field and lab personnel, and visitors.
•Investigate accidents or near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
•Maintain accurate records of safety inspections,
•Maintain and update safety documentation, including safety plans, procedures, and incident reports.
•Collaborate with project management teams to assess safety needs and provide guidance on mitigating risks.
•Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety gear by workers.
•Advise and support project teams in maintaining safe practices while meeting project deadlines and objectives.
•Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in construction site safety.
•Maintain safety compliance with our clients on various platforms such as ISNET World, Compass, Avetta, and others.
