This position is located on an offshore oil platform in Federal waters off the coast of Southern California. The Roustabout is an essential member of the Drilling Team and is responsible for supporting all activities related to crane operations, equipment movement, and general labor on and off the platform.
- Assist with crane operations, including maintenance, rigging, loading, and unloading materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Move and stage equipment and materials for drilling and platform operations.
- Maintain the drilling area, walkways, and work zones in a clean, orderly, and hazard-free condition.
- Perform general labor duties including sweeping, washing, painting, and equipment cleanup.
- Support equipment handling and preparation for transport.
- Assist with the safe movement of personnel, materials, and tools on and off the platform.
- Work collaboratively with the Drilling Team and other departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures; participate in safety meetings and hazard analyses.
- Comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations related to offshore operations and safety.
- Participate in cross-training to learn additional drilling support roles.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and equipment operations.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate material-handling equipment safely.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly and accurately.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; able to work closely with diverse crew members.
- Ability to work long hours in physically demanding and outdoor conditions.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook, email).
- Offshore oil platform environment exposed to weather, noise, moving equipment, and confined spaces.
- Rotational schedule 14/14
- Extended work schedules may be required.
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, and carrying equipment or materials up to 50 lbs.
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; able to perform basic math accurately.
- Basic computer skills with experience using MS Office, Outlook, and internet applications.
- Ability to pass required offshore safety training, physical examination, and drug/alcohol screening.
- Previous offshore or oilfield labor experience.
- Experience with crane rigging or materials handling.
- TWIC card or ability to obtain one.
