?? Position Summary
A Rough Carpenter specializes in the construction, erection, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, particularly during the early stages of construction projects. This role focuses on framing, formwork, scaffolding, and other foundational carpentry tasks before finishing work is performed.
?? Key Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to meet job specifications.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and fasten wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
Construct frameworks including walls, floors, roofs, partitions, staircases, and door frames.
Install temporary support structures such as braces, scaffolding, and shoring.
Build forms for concrete foundations and other poured structures.
Inspect work to ensure conformance to specifications and building codes.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople on job site requirements.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Proven experience in framing, formwork, or other rough carpentry tasks.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
Proficiency with carpentry tools and equipment (saws, drills, levels, squares, nail guns).
Good physical condition and stamina; ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and in various weather conditions.
Valid drivers license (in many cases) and reliable transportation.
