WestCorp Solutions is seeking an experienced Rotating Mechanical Technologist / Engineer to support our client’s reliability engineering team in St. John’s, NL. This role focuses on troubleshooting, reliability improvement, and maintenance strategy development for rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, and turbines.
Location: St. John’s, NL Contract Length: 6 months with potential for extension Travel: Offshore travel may be required; all associated training provided
- Lead and support troubleshooting activities for mechanical issues on rotating equipment.
- Develop, optimize, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Support reliability improvement initiatives using analytics to identify failure modes and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to enhance equipment performance.
- Prepare technical reports, root cause analyses, and documentation for equipment failures and repairs.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with rotating equipment in industrial environments (oil & gas, power generation, manufacturing, etc.).
- Hands-on field experience troubleshooting and repairing pumps, compressors, and turbines.
- Strong understanding of reliability principles, including condition monitoring, failure analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Proficiency with reliability and maintenance software tools (e.g., vibration analysis tools, CMMS such as SAP).
- Experience with advanced reliability tools (e.g., Weibull analysis, FMEA, RCA).
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ISO, and ASME.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently or within multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to work in field environments and travel as required.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility is considered an asset.
