Rock Truck/Articulated Dump Truck Drivers (Temporary)

Immediate Start

Duties:

- Work and operate outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, fog, and winter conditions.

- General labouring duties

- Operate rock truck/articulated dump truck and occasionally rigid frame haul trucks (773 or 777) in a safe manner following manufacturer’s specifications and company/client policies and procedures

- Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times and report hazards.

- Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as per company policies and procedures.

- Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections to ensure equipment is fully functional and safe for operating.

- Record all inspections in equipment log book and report equipment deficiencies to supervisor.

- Communicate effectively with team and supervisor via hand signals and radio communications.

Position Requirements:

- Strong commitment to safety including personal safety and the safety of co-workers

- Demonstrated experience operating rock truck/articulated dump trucks in a mining environment or construction setting

- Experience operating CAT 773/777 Haul Truck in an open pit mining environment considered an asset

- Willingness to step out of the cab and perform labour tasks if and when required including shoveling tracks, fueling, greasing, and cleaning equipment, operating powered equipment, loading, and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, and other duties as needed and able to manage up to 50lbs.

- Ability to work outside in changing weather conditions over a 12 hour shift

- Ability to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test

- Must hold a valid BC driver licence with reliable to transport to meet in Prince George/Vanderhooof

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $37.00 per hour

- Vanderhoof, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
