Robotic Welder
Standard Iron is seeking someone in the filed of robotic welding. This individual could be a culmination of a robotically trained welder, or a robotic programmer with welding capabilities.
The key responsibilities are:
- Develop standards and action plans to drive accountability and performance for improvements; do so through process improvement within production as well as within automation systems.
- Develop tooling standards to support existing and new products; support any changes when necessary according to standard work instructions.
- Benchmark production systems (based on world-class operations) to elevate current thinking.
- Manage product integration into operations for "large" volume NPIs.
- Create, modify and execute complex robotic welding programs utilizing engineering drawings, solid modeling concepts, offline programming software, detailed sequence of operation routings and standard work instructions.
- Establish robotic and automated welding parameters, and adjust robotic/welding variables as necessary; oversee improvements to align with safety, delivery, quality and cost requirements.
- Balance welding operations to achieve maximum efficiency using offline programming software; analyze cycle time, part dimensional improvements and ensure part consistency.
- Assist in the development and implementation of advanced robotic applications and welding automation.
- Maintain spare parts inventory, oversee routine maintenance for associated equipment.
- Three to five years metal working manufacturing production experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, project management and facilitation skills.
- Exemplary leadership and communication skills to effectively lead, mentor and facilitate.
- Must possess a passion for customer satisfaction; a proven track record of continuous improvement and sensitivity to achieving and improving manufacturing performance metrics.
- High energy, strong participative leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a sensitivity to people required.
- Highly committed team player, flexible, and able to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to effectively communicate in small to medium groups of diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency with PCs and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Certifications in Lean or Six Sigma preferred.
- Able to secure results in a matrixed, fast paced, hands-on team environment.
- Experience / Exposure in implementing daily management / visual management
- Candidate will need to possess strong organizational, analytical and motivational skills along with an ability to thrive in a metrics-driven, performance-based environment with stretch goals
- ABB and Robot studio experience preferred.
This individual would report to the Plant manager or Factory Manager in areas where role utilized.
