Job Purpose

The Reporting Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing portfolio reporting that supports data-driven decision making across the Capital Project delivery PMO and the broader utility organization. This role will transform key project, financial, and operational information into clear, actionable insights accessible to project managers, leadership, and regulatory stakeholders.

The Reporting Analyst plays a key role in standardizing how project performance is measured—ensuring transparency, accountability, and proactive management of the capital and operations project portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

- Design, maintain, and enhance project dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

- Consolidate data from multiple systems—finance, scheduling, resource planning, asset management—to produce accurate and timely reporting.

- Translate raw data into meaningful visualizations and insights that support PMO governance, executive oversight, and operational decision-making.

- Ensure reporting aligns with the Project Delivery Framework and PMO standards.

- Track and analyze project KPIs including schedule adherence, cost performance, risks, issues, variances, and resource utilization.

- Identify trends, early warning indicators, and areas requiring PM intervention.

- Support monthly and quarterly reviews with data packs, variance narratives, and reliability-focused insights.

- Assist in preparing reports and data submissions required for regulatory bodies, internal audits, and capital planning cycles.

- Validate the accuracy, completeness, and alignment of project data across systems.

- Conduct root-cause analysis when data gaps or inconsistencies occur.

- Partner with Project Controls, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and PMs to ensure consistent data entry and definitions.

- Contribute to the development of reporting standards, definitions, and governance around metrics.

- Support enhancements to PMO systems and workflows related to reporting functionality.

- Document reporting processes, data flows, and user guides.

- Work closely with Project Managers, Project Controllers, Finance Analysts, and the PMO Governance team to understand reporting needs and deliver improvements.

- Provide training or troubleshooting for reporting dashboards and PMO tools.

- Deliver clear communication of insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Project Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.

- Certifications in Power BI or analytics tools preferred but not required.

- 2–5 years of experience in data analytics, project reporting, portfolio management reporting, or PMO/operations analytics.

- Experience in the electric, or gas utility industry preferred.

- Experience working with capital project data and PMO metrics strongly preferred.

- Strong technical skills with data modeling, visualization, and dashboard creation (Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel).

- Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.

- Ability to interpret project, financial, and operational data and present it clearly.

- High attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

- Familiarity with project management systems (e.g., SAP, Primavera, Unifier, Maximo) is a plus.
