Rental Distribution Technician - Level III

Description:

Rental Distribution Technician – Level III supports the diagnosis, repair, building and maintenance of power distribution equipment under the supervision of senior team members. Assists with in-house equipment fabrication, documentation, inventory, Testing, troubleshooting, customization, shipping and receiving. Maintains strong communication with internal teams and contributes to customer satisfaction. Adheres to all safety protocols and quality standards, actively participating in shop meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Operational Duties

- Assist with the diagnosis and repair of Power Distribution equipment under guidance from senior technician.

- Support the design, fabrication, and assembly of in-house rental equipment.

- Help document materials needed, work orders, condition of equipment shipped and received.

- Perform assigned tasks efficiently to support timely and cost-effective project completion.

- Communicate professionally with internal teams and assist in addressing customer concerns as needed.

- Follow quality assurance and control procedures to ensure high work standards.

- Participate in huddle meetings to stay informed on shop activities and priorities.

Maintenance

- Support efforts to improve the maintenance and reliability of equipment and shop processes.

- Assist with managing inventory needed to complete jobs efficiently.

- Learn and apply maintenance best practices to ensure equipment is operational and safe.

- Contribute to shop improvements by participating in lean initiatives and team action plans.

Safety

- Follow all safety protocols and operating procedures.

- Immediately report any unsafe conditions or actions to management.

- Wear proper PPE when necessary.

- Know how to use voltmeter and know what each setting is for on voltmeter.

- Participate in LOTO (Lock out tag out) program

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Attend training sessions as required.

- Perform all other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL TOOLS (Technician Owned)

- Multi-meter

- Standard socket set ¼" to 1” and Metric 8mm to 22mm

- Standard wrench set ¼” to ¾” and Metric 8mm to 22mm

- Standard Allen wrench set 5/16” to ½" Metric 6mm to 10mm ( T-handle or L-shape)

- Allen wrench set for impact (long hex bit socket set)

- Screwdriver set Flat and Phillips of all different lengths and sizes

- Adjustable wrench set

- Set of Tongue and groove pliers

- Lineman's pliers

- Wire strippers

- Wire crimper and cutting pliers

- Diagonal cutting pliers

- Needle nose pliers

- Klein cable cutters

- Hammer

- Set of impact nut drivers 5/16” to ½"

- Tape measure

- Impact and drill

Requirements:

EDUCATION

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

- Graduation from Technician/Maintenance training program preferred

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

- Possess a valid Texas driver's license
