The Remote Operations Center Manager is responsible for management and oversight of the real time remote operations of renewable generating assets performed by the ROC on a 24/7 basis, assuring Dispatcher and Generator Operators (GOPs) performance, quality, NERC, and Industry standards with safe and efficient operations.
This role manages the performance of the ROC operators, analysts, and technical support staff in renewable asset monitoring, reporting, and reliability compliance including NERC CIP.
Ensure adequate personnel, training, and support to carry out reliability compliance practices and procedures.
Conduct regular meetings with outside NERC CIP consultants and coordinate closely with internal team members in the efforts to maintain compliance and reliability goals.
Continuously evaluate practices and processes within the ROC and develop change management plans and budgets to continuously improve and scale the ROC capabilities and efficiencies.
Assist the wider management team in promoting a safe work culture and maintain an awareness within the ROC team of their ability and responsibilities to assist in safe work practices in the field and within the office environment.
5 year+ of experience in power generation or similar continuous process environment includes ROC experience.
Experience adhering to and overseeing adequate physical and cybersecurity practices within an operations center in the context of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards.
Experience in managing multiple projects and processes preferred.
General understanding in effective us of SCADA and reporting systems as it relates to monitoring and performance analysis of renewable energy generation systems.
