Rail Terminal Operator

Our local office in Redding, CA is seeking to hire a full time Rail Terminal Operator. This position is long term year-round, however, can be made available as seasonal full-time employment for the right candidate. Typical seasonal operation would be the October through March months.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Division Manager, the incumbent will oversee the terminal inventory; complete daily and month end inventory reports; unload propane rail cars; properly manage rail car shipments through the Rail Service Providers Web Portal; perform maintenance and repairs in the terminal and facility, while operating a safe working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Observe and record daily temperature, pressure and liquid level readings of the storage tanks and propane tank cars.

· Spot, connect, operate, monitor and unload propane rail cars.

· Oversee the loading of Propane trucks and have the ability to unload propane trucks

· Accurately complete rail car and truck documentation

· Perform facility and equipment maintenance and repairs as needed

· Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by the Division Manager

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

· Basic computer experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

· Ability to navigate job specific websites

· Must be mechanically inclined and able to understand pressurized systems

· Must possess math skills with the ability to understand basic formulas

Education and Experience:

· High School education or equivalent

· Previous propane rail car experience a plus

· Willing to train the right individual
