Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is currently recruiting for a Quality Program Facilitator who will be responsible for effectively enhancing the quality culture throughout the Northern Strands Group of Companies (NSGC). The Quality Program Facilitator will build effective relationships and collaborate with the division managers to ensure that quality support, practices, and efficient operating processes are administered and executed throughout the organization. The position will evaluate the level of continuous improvement throughout the organization and ensure that implemented initiatives and corrective actions remain current and in effect.
We are seeking an individual that will be instrumental in the completion of audits and verification to ensure that best practices are utilized encompassing the ISO standards of compliance as a benchmark.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Operations
•Conduct periodical audits of all divisions throughout NSGC with attention to the analysis of processes and supporting the development of standardized criteria
•Review all internal project quality requirements and specifications ensuring their successful application through project duration
•Interface with clients to provide updates, maintain relationships, and provide correspondence to inquiries
•Provide timely reporting and follow-up of open items and initiatives and ensure that they are properly maintained, documented, verified, and communicated
•Assist division leaders in the development and implementation of detailed documented procedures which pertain to the execution of critical tasks
•Communicate with project managers/coordinators, technicians, supervisors regarding any supporting quality requirements
•Monitor and assist in scheduling 3rd party audits, quality testing, and NDE Inspections
•Provide coverage for the Quality Inspector when required
•Ensure weld machines, measuring devices, and specialty measuring tools have current certificates and proof of calibration
•Assist in the preparation of internal/external audit criteria
•Participate in the investigation process with documented non-conformances
+ Work with other divisions to ensure effective determination of root cause and the development and implementation of corrective/preventative actions
•Minimize variations throughout the service and manufacturing processes
•Review new NSGC quality processes and procedures prior to implementation into the Quality Management System (QMS)
External Operations
•Ensure that requirements for quality control are maintained and implemented at all levels throughout the Group of Companies
•Travel occasionally to external job sites and interact with the site Quality Control Coordinators to ensure that quality criteria and best practices are followed as indicated by client specifications
•Conduct a quality audit itinerary outlining the objectives and inspection criteria for site visits to be reviewed with the Quality Manager prior to departure
•Develop criteria for and conduct on-site audits at supplier facilities as required
•Ensure all divisions of NSGC are using the industry’s best practices to deliver quality products and services
•Follow-up with customers and contribute to the growth and development of the customer satisfaction evaluation process
Non-Conformance & Reporting
•Identify and investigate non-conformances and track the corrective and preventative actions throughout the remediation process
•Ensure the continuous improvement resulting from the implementation of corrective/preventative actions from past NCRs remains in effect
+ Develop a frequency for follow-up audits and a system for reporting results
•Identify and resolve workflow and process issues with the guidance of the Division and Quality Manager
•Maintain and issue current records for NCRs
+ Identify and document affected business unit(s), division(s), summary of events, root cause, corrective/preventative actions along with estimated costs
+ Maintain continued follow-up with interested parties up to and including successful closure
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
•A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Quality Assurance (QA) and/or Quality Control (QC) role within a manufacturing setting is preferred
•Analytical skills to dissect process/procedure requirements and identify areas of improvement
•Ability to interpret blueprints/drawings, Drawing Interchange Formats (DXFs) and weld symbols
•Experience working with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 compliance and integrated management systems (IMS) would be an asset
•Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
•Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
•Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of QA and QC
•Knowledge of CWB W47.1/W47.2 and W59.1/W59.2 practice is required
•Hold a valid CWB level 1 Weld Inspector’s Certificate or higher endorsement
•Previous Mechanical Aptitude and general knowledge of heavy equipment/automotive tools, parts, and repair is an asset
•Knowledge of CSA, AWS, and ASME Standards is an asset
•Possession of Level 2 NDT Training related to Magnetic Particle Testing would be an asset.
•Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required
