ROLE SUMMARY:
As the Lead Quality Control Tech you will oversee, monitor, and control all quality aspects of the project; delivering quality results to drive a successful project.
Successful Quality Control Tech's will possess excellent organizational skills, be detail oriented, self-starting, and have an enthusiasm for excellence in their work. Interaction with JTThorpe internal managers and external customers will be required so excellent communication skills are critical.
The Quality Control Tech's role is vital to the success of our project team, contributing to continuous improvement processes, enhancing project team communications, and strengthening client satisfaction.

LOCATION:
Time will be spent mostly at construction project sites in the Greater Houston Area, as well as at the Houston Regional Office.
Responsibilities on Jobsites:
•Monitor daily work being completed to ensure it meets required Quality levels.
•Making sure proper documentation is being followed for QA/QC.
•Follow established guidelines, policies, and procedures
•Testing and recording mil thickness (WFT & DFT)
•Monitoring and documenting environmental readings.
•Accurate Reporting and Record Keeping
•Monitoring and recording batch numbers and serial numbers
•Proactively avoiding rework through proper tracking and communicating with foreman and craft.
•Other job responsibilities, as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Qualifications and Abilities:
•Candidate must be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while reprioritizing workload and switching between tasks as needed
•Must have a minimum of a NACE Level 2 Certification with prior Coatings/Fireproofing experience
•Applicants must have a strong work ethic
•Must be able to read and follow Fabrication & Structural Engineering Drawings
•Computer background, including proficiency with MS Office / Excel
•Good communications skills and ability to work with diversity of people, bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment
•Must be able to pass a Federal background check and obtain a TWIC Card
•Drug testing is required
