We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control & Material Coordination Technician to oversee incoming material verification and field quality control procedures. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring materials are correctly placed, tested, and inspected throughout all phases of the project, with a focus on soil compaction, concrete preparation, and dimensional accuracy.
This is a rotational camp position, supporting and working on projects in the Tsay Keh Dene area. Camp accommodations will be provided while on site.
- Receive and verify incoming materials for compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate proper handling and placement of materials on site.
- Ensure inspection and test plans (ITPs) are developed and completed for applicable activities.
- Document test results and prepare reports for QA/QC compliance.
- Conduct pre-pour inspections for concrete placement, including formwork, reinforcements, and mix verification.
- Monitor concrete delivery schedules and curing procedures.
- Coordinate and document in-situ compaction tests using approved methods and equipment.
- Verify that fill operations meet required density and moisture standards.
- Conduct sieve analysis and Proctor tests on soil and aggregates to determine material suitability.
- Maintain organized lab data and certificates for quality records.
- Perform dimensional checks for installed structures and excavations to ensure compliance with plans.
- Support layout verifications and elevation confirmations using survey instruments.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- Collaborate with site foremen, engineers, and project managers to resolve quality concerns.- 3+ years of experience in QA/QC roles in construction or civil engineering.
- Familiarity with soil mechanics, concrete testing, and material standards.
- Certification in construction inspection or materials testing preferred (e.g., CSA, ACI, CCIL).
- Proficiency in test instruments (nuclear density gauge, sieve shaker, slump cone, etc.).
- Strong documentation skills and ability to interpret technical specifications.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel between project sites.
