Telyon is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Solar Quality Control Manager (QCM) to join our team. The QC Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure the successful completion of solar projects to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering top-quality work.
- Implementation of the three-phase control system for all definable features of work. Examples of definable features of work are roof protection, module racking, electrical wiring DC and AC
- Prepare quality control plan for work (provide generic examples of plans you have prepared or implemented)
- Use Procore construction management software to document progress.
- Become proficient in installation of all equipment installed on site through attending training, reading manuals, following guidance from others. Some training will be self-guided.
- Perform physical activity such as: climb stairs up to 100 feet multiple times per day. Lift up to 50 lbs, work in temps from below freezing to 100 deg F
- Ensure that all in-place work meets or exceeds all minimum standards set forth in the plans and specifications.
- Detect discrepancies or problems with completed work, document using computer tracking software and notify site leadership as needed.
- Maintain as-built conditions for work using computer software.
- Submit weekly QC reports suitable for review by executive team with proper English punctuation and grammar.
- Read and understand contract language to ensure that all work and jobsite activities are compliant with contracted standards.
- Compile list of punch list items for completion by subcontractor and track completion with photos and documentation. Schedule all completion activities and manage corrections.
- Read electrical drawings and inspect work for compliance with drawings
- Be familiar with drawings from other disciplines such as structural and civil.
- Instruct installers in proper installation techniques for all equipment included in the project.
- Travel to jobsite on a daily basis. Mileage and/or per diem provided.
- 5 years experience in commercial solar installation, preferably on rooftop installations.
- Formal training in Quality Control (QC) or relevant experience.
- Submit examples of quality control plans you have drafted or followed.
- 1-3 years of experience in a quality assurance/quality control role, preferably in the construction or renewable energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques, with an understanding of solar photovoltaic systems.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
