American Quality Fabrication, Inc. is looking for an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team:
Responsible for performing in process inspections on products at various stages of production, to ensure that customer specifications are being met and company quality standards are followed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced
•Ensure that all of the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase
•Create comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were taken
•Educate production team on quality control issues, and work with group leaders to improve overall company safety and product quality
•Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments
•Read blueprints and specifications
•Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards
•Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process
•Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
•Accept or reject finished items
•Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
•Notify supervisors of defects; assist in analyzing, identifying and correcting the underlying production problem
•Participate in continuous improvement (CIP) activity
•Strictly adhere to Quality standards
•Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, etc.
Required Experience & Education:
•3-5 years of experience with on-the-job inspection in metal fabrication industry
•Must be able to read blueprints, and identify print with actual part
•Must possess basic math and computer skill
•Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry
•Ability to work in a team environment
Please Note: Work is done in a manufacturing environment in a fabrication shop. Requirements include, but are not limited to:
•Subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
•Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
