Job Summary:
Inspect finished tungsten carbide product for defects and deviations from engineering specifications after sintering by using visual inspection, precision measuring instruments and other test equipment.
· Measure dimensions of sintered tungsten carbide products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
· Read orders, blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
· Confer with engineering team or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions or provide technical information.
· Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications in proper container.
· Use wand to enter order number, conformance status, quantity inspected, approved, rejected, remakes, etc. into ERP system.
· Prepare hard grinding prints to accompany parts for subcontractors.
· Communicate with soft inspector regarding pre-sintered product conformance.
· Comply with company safety and quality policies/procedures.
· Communicate with engineering regarding trends or non-conforming dimensions affected by shrinkage (shrink factor).
· Report to work daily and on time unless otherwise excused.
· Wear assigned PPE to safely perform tasks.
· Wear steel-toed boots for the duration of shift
· Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment
· Performs other duties as assigned or needed
· Ability to receive and carry out verbal and written instructions given by management
· Communicate in a professional manner with co-workers
