Role: Quality Assurance Specialist (HVAC)/Technical Trainer
Status: Regular, Full Time
Reports to: Manager, Compliance and Standards
Division: Enercare Home Services Inc.
Location: Home Deployed (Coverage for South-Western ON)
Summary:
Complete Quality, Technical and Safety assessments of work carried out by Technical Field Staff and initiate and assign corrective actions as appropriate. The assessment may also include on site coaching and briefings to ensure that Technical Field Staff are competent to carry out their duties effectively, in compliance with
•all statutory legislations,
•compliance with Enercare’s policies and procedures
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Plans and carries out quality, technical and safety assessments on work carried out by Technical Field Staff.
•Identifies and provides coaching, on the job training and briefings to Technical Field Staff.
•Identifies, investigates and communicates corrective actions, including monitoring timelines as appropriate.
•Evaluate corrective actions that have been applied to ensure a high level of due diligence.
•Evaluate the effectiveness of delivered training solutions, and where necessary take action to address any gaps identified.
•Participate in onboarding technical assessments and training
•Observe new hires after onboarding, communicate with Manager
•Be aware of changing operational and technical situations and developments in technology, evaluating the information and implementing innovative training solutions to meet the changing needs.
•Complete in field/site specific product evaluations and effectiveness
•Provide support in the preparation and development of Operational Procedures.
•Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of Statutory Regulations, Codes of Practice & Procedures
•Develops and promotes best (technical and non-technical) practices for the field.
•Improves technical awareness and ability of field based staff.
•Attends area Team/Tool box meetings to communicate trends and weaknesses.
•Participates in incident investigations as required.
Qualifications:
•Must have valid HVAC License(s)/Certificates (Refrigeration/Air Conditioning and Gas Technician G2 minimum).
•Sheet metal license an asset
•Must have valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract maintained
•Must have a minimum of 5 years recent relative HVAC experience in both service and installation
•Ability to deliver and present training materials to high standard.
•Ability to undertake assessments (written and observed).
•Ability to identify gap analysis and provide solutions to eliminate
•Knowledge of HVAC systems, statutory regulations, codes of practice and operational procedures.
•Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
•Excellent communication and coaching skills.
•Good organizational and planning ability.
•Committed to promoting technical excellence.
•Highly self-motivated, work with minimum supervision and effectively plan / organize own work.
•Committed to delivering exceptional customer service to promote high levels of customer satisfaction.
•College diploma or equivalent would be an asset.
•Results oriented, achieving high levels of individual and team performance
